Can't resist sharing some pix from Drew's recent field trip to his nanny's apartment in West Philadelphia. Meghan and Drew had been plotting this trip for weeks, and since it involved both a subway and a bus trip, it was very exciting.
Drew has gotten interested in Winnie the Pooh recently, and his favorite parts are hearing about the "Woozles" and "Heffalumps" who live at the edge of the Hundred Acre Wood and add an element of danger and foreboding to these stories. Meghan has been charming Drew with stories of her real-life Woozle (read: ferret) for awhile now, and these pix document their climactic first meeting.
Living in the city for at least the near future, David and I have started to apply to private schools for Drew to attend in pre-K and beyond. We are really dazzled by the early curriculums at these schools (computer processing for 3 year-olds for example, and a very sharp uniform that starts in Kindergarten) but we just can't face putting Drew in school 5 days a week as a 3 year-old just to assure him a spot 2 years later in a good Kindergarten-- we feel lucky that it's not as competitive as NYC, but it feels close to it. We plan to keep Drew in his current playschool 3 mornings per week next year, and balance the rest of his time out with bonding time with his new baby brother, and days like Woozle-meetings. For now, we all love Meghan and feel lucky that Drew spends a couple of days a week continuing to have "adventures" like this.

It's ridiculous, isn't it? We are preparing ourselves to be outskilled by our toddler in the near future. Maybe he'll be able to do our taxes next year.
What, Drew is able to do taxes now? Send him our way! :)
Actually I was refreshed to read a blog titled "Woozles and Heffalumps" since that is my level of Motherhood and I like it that way. Those seem to be the more important things of childhood...
