On Thursday we celebrated with a traditional (enormous) meal at Grandee and Poppy's, where the 6 grandchildren (aged 7 mos- 8 yrs) asked to be excused 5 minutes into the meal so they could go play together. The next thing we knew, the 3 oldest boys had turned the entire kitchen into a racetrack, which made it easier not to do any dishes that night:

Judging from their post-race exhaustion, we know the boys had fun.
This year, on Evan's first Thanksgiving, the bird outweighed baby by 3 pounds. Evan's first tooth cut through (bottom right tooth) on Thanksgiving morning; he marked the occasion with a celebratory bite of mashed sweet potatoes.
On Friday and Saturday, we toured the city with David's cousins. We always have a lot of fun together just seeing what festive fun Philly offers up as we walk around town. There was more eating to do at the Reading Terminal and then we visited the great holiday train display across the street.
(The kids' favorite was pretending to drive the life-sized trolley around; my favorite was seeing things like this in the display:
This year little cousin Ben was able to run around with Drew and fully participate in any ruckus. Evan slept through the famous Wanamaker's light show, but Drew and Ben enjoyed every low-tech moment of it. We finally finished off our waistlines with another great Thanksgiving meal at Nana and PopPop's.
At Drew's nursery school last week, the kids were asked to state what they were thankful for this year. Two teachers came up to me at pick-up time that day to tell me that Drew had charmed them by saying "my baby brother." The love between these 2 brothers is growing stronger every day, and for them, we are truly thankful.
